Introducing Kennadi Jade Nielsen

I don't even know where to begin with this one. It all started at about 2:00 Thursday, June 24, 2010. I woke up with cramping in my stomach and just figured it was braxton hicks. They were coming anywhere from between 2 and 7 minutes apart but weren't unbearable, I decided to come out to the couch so I could have some like to write down the times these "braxton hicks" were coming. I ended up falling asleep at about 4:30 a.m. (I became good about not getting my hopes up that it could be real labor). Daniel woke up to find me on the couch and woke me up, he asked why I was on the couch and then he saw the paper I was writing the "bracton hicks" on. All he said was "I'm calling in." he called into work and we both went back to sleep. Allysea woke me up around 9 and I started noticing more "braxton hicks" when I woke up. They weren't really painful just uncomfortable to I was sure it couldn't be labor. At about 10:oo a.m. they were consistently 3 minutes about and were gradually getting more pain ful. I decided maybe we should head to the hospital and get checked out. I woke up Daniel told him I was getting the shower to shave my legs and going to throw the essentials (deoderaunt, toothbrushes, toothpaste, stuff like that) into our suit case. Daniel got up and got Allysea ready and off we went. We dropped Allysea off to Daniel's friends house and we were off to the hospital. By this time I didn't have the best attitude and was not the most pleasent person to be around. Now what I new were not braxton hicks but were contractions had moved into my back and were pretty intense!. Daniel dropped me off at the hospital doors while he parked the truck and I waddled my way into labor and delivery. (Approximately 12:00 p.m.)
The receptionist made it a point to tell me that they were just putting my in a triage room until the decided if I was in labor or not and if not I would just be sent home. I assured her that it was labor and wouldn't be going anywhere for a few days! Daniel and I waited impatiently and after 30 minutes of extreme pain and no nurse I demanded Daniel go find out "where in the HELL these people are" after that a nurse was right in. She asked when my last prenatal appointment was and I told her yesterday and that I was dialated to a 3 1/2. She checked me and said "OH MY GOSH GIRL your a 7!!!! Do you want an epidural?" I said ya I wanted one 45 minutes ago! She then quickly moved me into a labor and delivery room and next thing I new the anethesiologist was in. I finally had got the epidural! Immediately following that I was like a whole new person!! They broke my water at about 2:30 p.m. and right after that I went from a 7 to a 9 1/2. Her head was turned to the side and we tried all sorts of different positions to get her to turn it up and down but had no luck. The decided at about 7:30 p.m. she was just going to turn her head herself. She turned her head and I went from a 9 1/2 to complete. We then started pushing and I had my beautiful baby at 8:14 p.m. Weighing in at 8lbs 3oz 21 1/2 in. long!

She was and is the the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! I still can't believe that she is mine. It all seems so surreal, it floods my mind and heart with so much emotion to be given something so precious!
